My Skincare Routine
Real talk, I never really cared much about skin products until recently. I’d use the cheapest generic store brand and call it day. At one point I wasn’t event exfoliating or moisturizing (gasp! I know). That was until I moved to Nashville from Boulder, talk about going from dry to humid reaallll quick! My skin was all out of whack, super oily, and I had no idea how to fix it. Since I was never into skincare products I never took to the time to figure out what type of product I needed for my skin, and let’s be honest there’s like 5million different products out there…way too much work to figure out.
I started doing everything wrong, I thought drying my skin out would make it less oily…wrong! This only made my skin produce more oil to counter act the dryness, hence making the problem worse. (Why didn’t I think of that sooner?) :/
It wasn’t until Osea Malibu reached out to me to do a product review that I started to understand skincare. (Let me preface by saying it’s important to me that my viewers get real and authentic content. I would NEVER post a product if it wasn’t something I used or believed in 100%!)
To give a little brand background, Osea Malibu is an All Natural Skincare line made from the sea. The products are vegan, organic, cruelty-free, non-gmo, gluten-free and packaged in the cutest recyclable glass bottles! ...hard to find these days!
I worked with Mary (so sweet) to find the products that would best work for MY skin…oily, small amount of acne, fine line prevention.
She put together the following regimen.
Balancing, Daily Seaweed Gel Cleanser
*I use this in the morning and at night.
This stuff is pure magic! I can’t say enough good things about it. The texture of the cleanser is more like a cool gel that leaves your skin feeling super fresh and hydrated. The seaweed makes you literally feel like you’re at the beach! I was shocked at how immediate I felt much less oily, and after using the product for 2 months now I haven’t had to worry about oily skin. Don’t even get me started on how much better my complexion is!
2. Blemish Balm
Ultra Lightweight, Blemish Balancing Botanical Moisturizer
*I use this in the morning and at night.
I don’t get a lot of acne but this past year with the humidity I had noticed more form around my chin and mouth, gross! I’d been using Proactive for years but the harsh chemicals were really taking toll on my skin, and I felt the products were making my oiliness worse. The Osea Blemish Balm has changed all of that, I’ve gone from having at least one or two annoying pimples everyday to now having smooth blemish free skin. Hooray! To me, this moisturizer is liquid gold. Cures my acne and leaves my skin moisturized and fresh!
Clarifying & Balancing Face Oil for Blemished Skin
*I use this at night.
What I like, or rather love about this skin corrector is that it’s strong enough to fight acne but gentle enough to leave my skin feeling super soft. I also like the fact that it’s a rollerball, I use this at night as a spot corrector and sometimes I’ll rub it in all over my face to wake up super hydrated the next day. This product to put it bluntly, is the shit.
Age-Defying that Brightens, Plumps and Tones
*I use this at least once a week.
As I said before, I was never the girl that stressed over skincare so doing the whole facemask thing never intrigued me. I did one with my roommate once and hated it. Decided that since I loved the results from the other Osea Malibu products I would be stupid to not give this one a try. Let me just say I’m glad I did and I now do this mask at least once a week for an extra cleanse. What I like most about it is that it dries invisible, I can put it on a run to the grocery store or even leave it on all night and wash it off in the morning. This is not your average mask by any means!
I wanted to wait 2 months before writing a review because it was important that I got an accurate feel for the product. To be honest, I could have written this 1 week into using the products and I would have felt exactly the same. My skin is fresh looking, blemish and oil free! THANK YOU OSEA!
