For the past few years my sister Katherine and I have taken a trip somewhere for our birthdays, we’ve done Philly and New Orleans and this year we chose to do an epic road trip through Montana, Idaho and Wyoming! Our first stop on the road trip was Bozeman, MT, a cute town located in the Rocky Mountains. You can enjoy hiking, mtn biking, rock climbing, hunting, backcountry exploring in Yellowstone National Park, as well as enjoy the downtown markets, shops, restaurants and culture. In my opinion, Bozeman is the perfect little getaway mountain town!

We stayed 3 nights at the RSVP Motel, previously known as the Rainbow Motel it has since been resurrected into modern hip place to stay and play! Located just a few minute walk from downtown it’s the ideal spot to stay!

WHERE TO EAT/DRINK:

  1. BLACKBIRD: Great spot for delicious pizza & pasta, this was our favorite meal in downtown Bozeman! Not only was the food incredible, but this casual eatery with soaring ceilings and an open kitchen made for amazing ambiance. We highly recommend the Funghi wood-fired pizza.

  2. COPPER: This Whiskey Bar & Grille is a sophisticated tavern with stone & plank decor, offering upscale comfort food & a broad whiskey menu. We stopped in here for a few Moscow Mules before exploring the downtown area.

  3. PLONK: Plonk was my FAVORITE spot to relax and grab a fun cocktail! The bartenders we super fun, engaging and made our visit special. Ask for the W.A.P. (whiskey, aperol & pimms) you won’t be disappointed!

  4. SHINE BEER SANCTUARY: Shine is located in an old historic downtown service station, boasting an a addition and rooftop patio (which we hung out on), and a kitchen that shares the best of local favorites The Garage and La Pa Grill while creating daily twists on classic pub fare. This fun Beer Sanctuary serves 30 revolving craft beers on draft, 4 varieties of wine on tap from around the world.

  5. FARMERS DAUGHTERS: Conveniently located at the RSVP Motel this cute café and eatery is both a local and travelers favorite. Located just steps from our room, we’d enjoy cup of coffee and pastry each morning before heading out for the day.

THINGS TO DO:

  1. YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK: If you’re visiting Bozeman, checking out Yellowstone National Park is a must! Take the scenic hour and half drive to explore the gorgeous Emerald and Mammoth Hot Springs, you’ll be happy you did!

  2. DOWNTOWN SHOPS: We loved just strolling through the downtown checking out all the fun shops, some of our favorites were:

    1. HEAD WEST: Head West is a Montana lifestyle boutique that offers men’s and women’s new western wear including cowboy hats, boots and belts, leather bags, fun gifts, jewelry and accessories. They also have an amazing thrift shop in the basement of the store!

    2. HEYDAY: A lifestyle boutique located in the heart of beautiful downtown Bozeman, offers a fresh approach to everyday celebrations and gift giving.

    3. SCHNEE’S BOOTS, SHOES, & OUTDOORS: This spot is great for getting any gear/apparel for you trip! The boots I ordered before this trip were here, fyi ;)

  3. JAKES HORSEBACK RIDING: We technically did this when we stayed in Big Sky but this is an easy 45min trip away from Bozeman and it was the HIGHLIGHT of my trip. I can’t express how beautiful and surreal it was to ride horses through Yellowstone National Park! Please please do this :)
